Drink your Greens

We all know the importance of consuming fresh fruits and veggies

every day. In today’s fast paced, eat-on-the go, I want it right now American culture, very few of us actually consume enough whole foods in the form of fruits and vegetables in our daily diet. What if I told you that there was a way to not only consume an adequate amount of greens (and other vibrant colored vegetables), but you can do so quite easily, conveniently and deliciously; would you be interested? Who wouldn’t be?! Allow me to introduce you to the most powerful and nutritiously potent drink in the world! Readers, I introduce you to GREEN SMOOTHIES!!!!

Imagine drinking a salad but consuming exponentially more greens and feeling far more satisfied and satiated in a single setting. Now, imagine that this enormous salad tastes absolutely delicious without the added fat and calories of dressing (not to mention a mere five minutes of preparation). Imagine being healthier, having leaps and bounds more energy, becoming as “regular” as a new born, having glowing skin, whiter eyes and a slimmer waist. Envision yourself with better digestion, elimination, lustrous hair and a better sex life with your spouse. I know, I know….”WOW” is right; this is pretty mind-blowing stuff! Green smoothies can help you to achieve all of this by simply consuming one each day, preferably in the morning for breakfast. One serving of this green smoothie contains approximately three cups of dark leafy green vegetables which is more than many people get in a week. Furthermore, greens are the most potent and nutritionally dense food group on the planet!

Now, grab your Vita Mix, Ninja or whatever blender that you have and let’s go to work: 1 tablespoon bee pollen 1 tablespoon local honey • 1 ½ -2 cups of filtered water • 1 banana • 1 cup of berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and/or black berries) • 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseeds • 3 large handfuls of all or at least 2-3 of the following greens (I usually do 5-6): kale, spinach, arugula, chard (green, red, and/or rainbow), bok choi, tat soi, green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, spring mix, 50/50 mix, Super Greens mix, collards, turnips, mustards, etc. Note: for a sweeter beverage, add 1-2 packets of Stevia or ½ cup of apple or orange juice ***ALL ingredients should be organic*** Blend for 30 seconds to one minute (depending on your blender) and enjoy
